Vuelta’22 to start in Holland

The Tour de France will start next year in Copenhagen, Denmark, while the Vuelta a España in 2022 opts for a Gran Salida in Utrecht. ASO, responsible for the organisation of both Grand Tours, has therefore decided to schedule an extra rest day after the Tour and Vuelta starts on foreign land. Both events therefore start on a Friday.

Also Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico overlap next year. Normally the Italian stage race ends on a Tuesday, two days after the final stage of Paris-Nice. In 2022, however, the two most important preparation races for Milano-Sanremo will end on Sunday 13th March.
